The International Neuropsychological Society is one of the most prestigious academic societies in the world dedicated to promoting the study of brain-behavior relationships. To understand the weight of this achievement, one only needs to look at the figures who have guided the Society's path. The historical figures who laid the foundations of modern consultation have presided over this institution:

Pioneers of the Field

  • Muriel Lezak (President 1987): Historically considered the "mother of modern neuropsychological assessment." Her work defined our understanding of brain damage and transformed assessment into a deeply human process, not just a metric one.

  • Arthur Benton (President 1971): One of the founding fathers of clinical neuropsychology, whose visual and spatial assessment methods remain gold standards today.
